Our Heresies

This page contains campaigns that are consistent with Constitutional government, but that are controversial, even to people who say they support the Constitution. We label these campaigns Our Heresies out of respect for public opinion. We hope that people will consider our reasons for adopting these positions, and perhaps work with us to reach the day when they will no longer be viewed as heresies. You don't have to agree with everything we propose in order to be a DC Downsizer. We invite you to participate in campaigns when you agree, and to not participate when you disagree. However, we also encourage you to give our arguments serious consideration.

I am not afraid Tell Congress you've already won your war on terror, by NOT being afraid.

Social Security The old and the young must protect each other.

Abolish Federal Education Spending Federal involvement in education is unconstitutional and harmful.

Impeach the President Asking Congress to use the impeachment process is another way to withdraw consent.

Stop Policing the World Defend America only. Do not manipulate or police the world.

Make the FDA Advisory, Not Mandatory FDA coercion does more harm than good. The FDA should serve, not rule.

Oppose the E-Verify National ID System House bill H.R. 2885 creates de facto National ID system that infringes on your right to work, cripples small business, and encourages identity theft. Tell Congress to oppose it!

Abolish the Homeland Security Department The Department of Homeland Security does NOT protect you. It wastes your tax dollars and abuses you.
